Help ALS with 1 Click!
Click for VOTING
Dear Friends:
My high school has long been involved in ALS fundraising. Recently, the group began a dinner project called Mid-Winters Night Dream. Working with their advisor, another teacher - Don Strasser, the kids have raised over a million dollars! Quite unbelievable for a group of high schoolers.
They became involved recently in the Chase Bank's contest for favorite charity. Chase is working with Facebook and taking votes. The winning charity will be awarded $100,000. The school already won $25,000 in the preliminary round. We need your help.
Please go to the link above and vote for Midwinters Night Dream. You will be asked to register but it is not a big deal and you will not be hounded with emails from Facebook. Please help us raise enough votes to win this. You can help even more by passing this information on to your families and friends.
Thanks.

ONE OF GREENWICH’S FINEST LENDS SUPPORT TO JWT
Officer Roger Patrone, a 14- year veteran with the Greenwich Police Department suffering from ALS, will lend his support to the 2009 Jarden Westchester Triathlon (JWT), by cheering on runners along the 1,400 yard portion of the triathlon route known as CLAIRE’S CLIMB. This will be the first time Officer Patrone and fellow colleagues of the Greenwich Police Department will cheer on the JWT participants. The CLAIRE’S CLIMB route was created to honor the memory of Claire Gormley Collier of Stamford, CT who also suffered from ALS until her passing in May of this year. The climb reinforces Claire’s call…”DON’T GIVE UP!”[Read More...]
Pilot Program Trains New Triathletes
As the sun was starting to come down over the track at Rye High School, triathlon coach Ray Kelly gathered his newest students, Port Chester High School juniors Jimmy Pasqua and Kiara Bedon, and went over their weekly training schedule for the next three months.
There would be sprints on the Rye track and swimming at the Rye YMCA on Tuesday nights, a 7.5-mile distance run and more swimming at the Y on Saturday, and biking on Sunday. And there will be open-water swimming in the Long Island Sound on Thursdays.
